e-mail or email?

0

The Associated Press has officially announced they will remove the hyphen from “e-mail” in their style guide.  Other changes include changing “smart phone” to “smartphone” and “cell phone” to “cellphone.”

I personally like the space removal. Even last year when “web site” became “website” I was glad to see it gone.

But I will miss the hyphen.

I wonder when “cloud” will become a proper noun like “Internet” and get the uppercase treatment it deserves?
